I've never welded before but I was impressed with the quality and performance of this welder. I've only used it with Flux core wire so I won't review the other features. Even though it's 120V I'd use it with a 20A circuit. I used it for a while on a 15A circuit but it wouldn't go more then a minute without popping the household breaker. Once I added a 20A circuit to my garage it's worked flawlessly. So far I've welded a hitch adapter to my skid steer bucket, built a home made post hole auger for my skid steer, and made 24 feet of metal railing in my cabin - all without issues. The trailer hitch has moved my 6000lb boat/trailer around for 2 summers with no failure of the welds at all (the skid steer bucket even has a bow in it from the weight!). Like it says in the dvd it came with - my tenth practice weld was WAY better then my first. I'm not a professional, but for a homeowner/hobbiest like me I can't imagine needing a better/bigger welder. I bought an auto-darking helmet to go with it, because the little hand held one that came with the welder was basically so people would have something when they unpacked the box, until they could pick up something better. I also got the welder on sale - which made it even better.

This is just the best 125V welder you can buy. Having said that, remember that this is just a 125v welder and is not a serious professional strength unit. But it is great for small jobs around the shop or home and can handle lighter projects. Hook up the right gas, switch to MIG setting (reverse polarity), and you do some nice welds on aluminum and stainless if you know how to weld. I am a professional welder with 15 years experience and I like this little guy. I rated it 3 stars because, though

Is this the K2470-1 140T Model or the K2471-1 140C Model? The C has continuous voltage control, where the T only has discrete, and I can't tell from the SKU which this is.

A

The Power Mig 140C is actually part # K2471-2. There is no entry level SP-140T being offered anymore (K2688-2)
