If you can get it on sale for $140 - take 2. It is still a very good deal at regular price. There is no point of paying 100's of $$ more. Pros - It is sturdy, very easy to assemble and use, very portable(easy to remove and store) very inexpensive. Cons - Very flimsy winch, questionable mounting I have mounted my unit on a Dodge Ram pickup. There is no logical way to mount it on a bed of the truck. At least I could not think of any. I have mounted the base of the crane on a custom built rear bumper. Bumper is basically a hardened steel angle. Even then, I added additional support connected to truck's bed. The maximum weight I have lifted with this boom was 700 LBs. So far about 10 times. The winch fell up-part after 6 times. It is very poorly constructed. I am sure the boom itself can support posted 1000Lbs(or more) but the winch is not capable of it. If you want to get this unit, replace the winch with a larger one. Other then that I am very happy. The base of the crane permanently sits on the trucks bumper. When I need to use a crane I just put it on. That way it is not getting stolen, and jack cylinder is not getting damaged by a vibration. Pretty sure this crane can last forever since the only parts to break are winch and cylinder. Both are very cheap and easy to replace.

I mounted it in a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. Extremely difficult to mount properly to a truck bed. I had to make large steel brackets to bolt it to the base of the truck and the side wall other wise it just bends the truck bed from leverage force. Seals blew in the bottle jack after only 6 months and less than ten uses. I modified another bottle jack to fit it. I use it to lift snow blowers and I wouldn't trust it for anything heavier.
