To start off this engine is about 90 dollars. Very good price for a new gas engine. This engine is modled after the GX 160/GX200. It is 200cc NOT 196cc. They say that because if they said it was 200cc then it would be a exact knockoff. Besides that I have mine on a go kart that I built using a belt drive clutch and it pulls very good and smooth, from stock this engine if fairly loud. If an after market quiet exhaust like a 150cc or 200cc dirt bike exhaust. I have had mine apart to remove the internal gear driven govener and the inside is fairly decent. If you were to experience problems like not wanting to start or die when you hit the gas it could be due to carberator jeting valve clearnce leaking head gasket. My opinion on this motor - Great - just keep clean oil in it, keep the air filter clean and it should be good. I have had my engine for 2 years and I have ran into problems but all my fault. My engine still has the stock sparkplug and all external and internal besides the governor.

This engine is very reliable, easy to start/run, loves to idle and also loves to run at very high rpm! Awesome motor to put on a minibike or go kart. I would recommend this to anyone!

Now this engine is very cheap. I have heard stuff like they lose compression when it is usually the head gasket. If so buy a Honda head gasket. Most parts are interchangeable. I used this engine on a go kart with a Hilliard extreme duty clutch and it goes good. Mine was a bit hard to start after a while. I cleaned the Carb and emulsion tube - Very important and your engine should run fine.

I have replaced a MTD snow blower's 10 hp Tecumseh engine, with this little boy, and it does the job! Real bargain!

I bought 1 of these 3 yrs ago to mount on my tiller. It started on the 1st or 2nd pull every time. Today I pulled the tiller out and couldn't get it started. Started about 20 times in 3 years. I went to take the plug out ( the 1st time I ever pulled the plug on this engine) and found it to be very hard to take out since it was cross threaded when it was built at the factory. I'll ask at the store this week if they can give me an adjustment of some sort when I buy a new one!

Bought this on sale. Well packaged. Mounted to a tiller frame (for its life purpose) and tried to start. Cranked over and would almost fire, but just wouldn't run. Cleaned everything, checked everything, nothing. Topped off with oil, still wouldn't run. Was about to return and found that the low-oil level shutoff was malfunctioning. Disconnected it and it has run fine since. Cheap, get what you pay for. In my case, something that will run only a few times a year, will likely serve its purpose.

This engine has a low oil shut down switch , if it is low or at an angle it will not keep running, check the oil level.

Finding the new engine hard to start. Has good fuel and oil. What else can it be. Each pull brings some white smoke from the exhaust and it sputters but doesn't keep going.

The smoke is the residue form the assembly of the new engine. Possibly there may be a problem with the choke. If the problem persists please contact your local store for assistance.
