In the fall of 2025, Princess Auto provided a $1,000 gift card and a Drift Hero 2-seat go-kart to seven Manitoba vocational schools to “trick out”. Students had to build and customize the go-karts for bragging rights and a chance to win one of three Princess Auto shopping sprees to help outfit their school’s shop program.
This project brought students together to tackle a hands-on challenge, strengthen their teamwork and problem-solving skills, and leave their mark on the school while showing a little school spirit.
The top three go-karts drew a lot of attention when they were put on display during Princess Auto’s Winnipeg East store grand opening in early June 2026. All entries were judged on creativity, innovation, safety and functionality.
We thank our participants and recognize the efforts of all seven schools:
Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive Secondary School, Selkirk (1st place)
Garden Valley Collegiate, Winkler (2nd place)
Kildonan-East Collegiate, Winnipeg (3rd place)
Maples Collegiate, Winnipeg
R.D. Parker Collegiate, Thompson
Steinbach Regional Secondary School, Steinbach
Technical Vocational (Tec Voc) High School, Winnipeg
Keep watching for the next Full Throttle Challenge update, as we auction off all these fantastic go-karts this fall, in support of Manitoba trades education.
